The Le Sueur Police Department, along with the Le Sueur Fire Department and Le Sueur Ambulance, provides the public safety element for our city.  In partnership with our community, we provide impartial, ethical and professional law enforcement service and protection of life and property.  We strive to maintain the trust and confidence of our citizens while working to improve the quality of life.

First Responders

Police Officers are certified First Responders. When an emergency call comes to the Dispatch Center, Police Officers are usually 1st on the scene. If the situation involves personal life-threatening situation (i.e., potential heart attack, car or other accident), Officers are trained in, and carry equipment for, basic first aid measures. Their first response can frequently sustain life until the ambulance and staff can arrive.

Basic Services

  • Traffic law enforcement
  • Proactive police patrol
  • City codes enforcement
  • Criminal investigations
  • 911 Response
  • Crime prevention programs for residents and businesses

Be Alert

A safe community is 1 in which all citizens stay aware and alert to their surroundings. Especially today, citizens need to watch out for 1 another. If you see something you think is unusual or out of the ordinary, do not hesitate to call the Police Department. We would rather check out something that turns out to be okay, than to miss something because a citizen did not want to bother the Police about it.

Police Memorabilia

Due to cost and security considerations, the Le Sueur Police Department is not able to provide patches, badges, or any other police memorabilia to the public. Thank you for your understanding.

If you or someone in your neighborhood is planning a Night to Unite gathering, please contact the Le Sueur PD so that we can stop by for a visit (and share some prizes too).  Registration forms are available here
