Youth Activities

The Le Sueur Community Center offers several different activities throughout the year for youth. For swimming lesson and swim club information please see our Aquatic section.

T-Ball: For boys and girls age 4 through 2nd grade. We have 3 age levels for future all stars:
Pre K (age 4 & up) Must be 4 years of age by 5/1/12-no exceptions
Kindergarten
1st & 2nd Grade: Parent pitched

Soccer: For boys and girls age 4 through 16.
Registration is Thursday, February 2nd, 2012, 4-6 pm

Safety Camp:This camp is a fun filled day of promoting safety awareness among children ages 8 to 10. It provides your child with a variety of safety activities and demonstrations presented by professional personnel. They will be presented with a variety of demonstrations and topics about bike and water safety, poison, self defense and more. Each child should bring a bike which will be inspected by Nicollet South Bike Shop staff prior to participating in the bicycle safety rodeo course. We will conclude the day with an ice cream social and snacks. All participants will receive a t-shirt, lunch, a new & properly fit bike helmet. This camp is awesome! Limit 50 participants, so register early!

Mini Sports Camp

Parents, are you looking for more recreational activities for your children during the summer? Here is an opportunity to do just that twice a week. The City of Le Sueur Parks & Recreation Staff will be offering two mini sports camps for children 4-11 years old for 4 weeks. Activities may include ch class will be doing: kickball, basketball, soccer, softball, relay races and much more. All the classes will meet at the Le Sueur Community Center every Tuesday and Thursday.

Dates: June 5th - June 28th

Registration Deadline: June 4th

Fee: $25.00

Class I: 4- 7 yr. olds 9-10 am Class II: 8-12 yr. olds 10-11 am

FENCING

For students entering 2nd-6th grades

New & experienced students invited. Get ready to face your foe in mano-a-mano matches that will test your strength, speed, discipline and desire. Young student fencing classes improve dexterity, speed, quickness & focus.

Fall/Winter Activities:

Flag Football: Flag Football will be offered for all 2nd, 3rd & 4th Graders. Flag Football is desinged to encourage skills like passing, cathcing, running and team play. Flag Football is great fun and exercise for the younger kids.
Practice: Saturday mornings for 6 weeks
Where: LSH Giant Stadium Field
Time: 8:00-9:00 am
Dates: 9/17/11-10/22/11
Cost: $15 Each Player will receive a t-shirt
How: LSH High School Football Coach Terry Turek and LSH players will teach skill development for the first 3 weeks and gams the last 3 weeks.

5th & 6th Grade Girls Volleyball: The City of Le Sueur Parks & Recreation Department is offering 5th & 6th grade volleyball for girls. Players will learn the basics about the game of volleyball, develop skills & proper technique to assist them as they progress through the program.
Practices will be on Mondays from 5:45-7:15 pm and Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 am at the High School Gymnasium
Practice starts Monday, August 20th.
Cost: $35 Each Player will receive a t-shirt to be worn at games.

Attention all 5^th & 6^th Graders!! The City of Le Sueur Parks & Recreation Department along with the Le Sueur Henderson High School Varsity Football Program is offering full contact football to boys and girls entering 5th or 6th grade in the fall. Players will learn the basics about the game of football, develop skills & proper technique to assist them as they progress through the football program.

Full Contact Football Registration: Thursday, May 10th at the Le Sueur Community Center 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Football equipment will be given out in August. Practices will start mid-August.

You can register anytime prior by stopping at the Community Center office.

How: The High School Football coaches and players will teach skill development for the first 3 weeks; succeeding Games/Practices will be led by parent volunteer coaches.

Teams & Game Schedule will be determined after registration is complete.

Cost: $75 for full contact football.

School Break Mini Sports Camp:
Want to get the kids out of the house over the holidays? Do they spend to much time with their cell phones & video games? Here is an opportunity for them to get off the couch and get active! The City of Le Sueur Parks & Recreation Department will be offering two mini sports camps for children ages 4-11 over the holiday school break. All the classes will meet at the Le Sueur Community Center lobby.
Camp Dates: Monday, 12/26 - Thursday, 12/29
Class I: 4-7 year olds Time: 9:00-10:00 am
Class II: 8-11 year olds Time: 10:00-11:00 am
Fee: $15.00
