Youth Activities

The Le Sueur Community Center offers several different activities throughout the year for youth.  For swimming lesson information please see our Aquatic section.

Spring/Summer Activities:

Soccer:  We are getting ready for the 2010 Spring/Summer soccer season.  You can stop by the Community Center or complete the registration form and mail it back with your payment. 

Soccer is a lot of fun and great exercise for kids of all ages. 
U6 $25 for ages 4, 5, & 6 (fee includes 1 t-shirt & socks)
U8 $40 for ages 7 & 8 (fee includes 1 t-shirt & socks)
U10 $65 for ages 9 & 10 (fee includes 2 t-shirts, socks & shorts)
COMPETITIVE TEAMS:
U12 $90 for ages 11 & 12 (fee includes socks & shorts) $30 Jersey deposit
U14 $90 for ages 13 & 14 (fee includes socks & shorts) $30 Jersey deposit
U15 $90 for age 15 (fee includes socks & shorts) $30 Jersey deposit
A $10 Late Registration fee applies if registering after March 6th

Sam Dittberner's Elementary Basketball Camp:  This camp is for boys and girls entering grades 3-6.  Camp runs for 3 weeks.  Monday through Thursday 8:00-9:45 AM.
June 14-17-Shooting Camp:  Focused on improving and mastering techniques of proper shooting form.
June 21-24-Ball Handling Camp:  Participants will learn various drills and techniques to maximize their hand quickness, hand coordination, off-hand ability, overall ball control, and game-type moving dribbles.
June 28-July 1-Position Camp:  Designed to give specialized instruction to players who play on the perimeter and in the post; will learn about new moves to drive to the basket and the importance of correct footwork to beat a defender one-on-one.

Safety Camp:  This camp is for kids 8-10 years of age.  This camp is a fun filled day of promoting safety awareness among children whom we view as potential victims of serious injuries.  It provides your child with a variety of safety activities and demonstrations presented by professional personnel.  Each child should bring a bike which will be inspected by Nicollet South Bike Shop staff prior to participating in the bycycle safety rodeo course.  We will conclude the day with an icecream social and snacks.  All participants will receive a t-shirt, lunch and a properly fitted bike helmet.  This camp is awesome!  Limit 50 participants, so register early.  Click here to print the registration form to mail in with your payment.

Mini Sports Camp:  The City of Le Sueur Parks & Recreation Department Staff will be offering Mini Sports Camp.  Some of the camp activities might include:  kickball, basketball, soccer, swimming, softball, relay races and much more.  All classes will meet at the Community Center every Tuesday and Thursday.  Each participant will receive a Mini Sports Camp t-shirt.  Class size is limited to 20.   You can register online or in person at the Community Center.

Giant Valley Run and/or 1/2 Mile Run:  Kick off day two of Le Sueur's "Giant Celebration" as you cruise five Kilometers on this beautiful and challenging route.  This certified course is perfect for the serious competitor or those just out to have some fun.  Run or walk to the finish line.  Participants must report to the Le Sueur Community Center Gymnasium (821 East Ferry Street) at least 30 minutes prior to their race to pick up t-shirts and race numbers.

Fall/Winter Activities:

Flag Football: 

Full Contact Football:  REGISTER IN THE SPRING FOR FALL FOOTBALL!  The City of Le Sueur Parks & Recreation Department along with the Le Sueur Henderson High School Varsity Football Program is offering full contact football.  Players will learn the basics about the game of football, develop skills and proper technique to assist them as they progress through the football program.  The High SchoolFootball coaches and players will teach skill development for the first 3 weeks; succeeding games/practices will be led by parent volunteer coaches.  Teams & Game Schedule will be determined after registration is complete.  

Girls Volleyball for 5th & 6th Grade
For all girls entering the 5th or 6th grade in the fall.  Registration in the Spring for Fall Volleyball.
Players will learn the basics of the about the game of volleyball, deveop skills & proper technique to assist them as they progress through the program.  The first 3 weeks will be practice starting Monday, August 23rd.  Practices will be on Mondays from 5:45-7:15pm and Saturdays from 9:00-11:00am in the high school gymnasium.  Game play with surrounding communities will start on Saturdays in mid-September from 9:00 am - 12:00pm.  Game locations will be determined the first week in September.

Learn 2 Skate:

Bitty Basketball:  Le Sueur Henderson Bitty Basketball League is for children school ages K-2nd grade.  We will work on developing basic basketball skills.  The children will have an opportunity to play each other at the end of practice.  Tennis shoes are required.  Includes a FREE basketball and t-shirt.  Cost:  $25.00 (non-refundable)
