Parks in Le Sueur

Park Rental:

The shelters at American Legion Park and Mayo Park can be reserved and the Softball field at Softball Park can also be reserved for a fee of $25.00.  The shelters may be reserved from Memorial Day weekend through fal park shut-down (when the water is turned off, usually around November 1st).  Reservations will be honored in the order they are made.  Reservations will be taken beginning January 1st of each year.  Standing reservations for yearly events (ie. family reunions) will not be accepted.  A reservation calandar will be posted at the Mayo Park and Legion Park shelters.  The shelter is available for usage without a reservation or fee if it has not been reserved by a fee paying group.

Please call the Community Center at 507.665.3325 to inquire if your requested day is available.  We cannot reserve the shelter until payment is received and the Picnic Shelter Reservation Form is completed and returned to the Community Center.  You can print the Picnic Shelter Reservation Form, complete it and bring it to the Community Center along with your payment. 

American Legion Park: 

American Legion Park is located on Ferry Street.  Legion Park has a shelter with restrooms and a playground.  The Outdoor Pool is also part of the park area.  Plan your summer get-together for the Legion Park.  The shelter is a great place to have your picnic after enjoying the outdoor pool and playground.  The shelter at Legion Park can be reserved. please see Park Reservations for more information.

 

Mayo Park:

Mayo Park is a quiet peaceful get-away.  It offers more privacy because it's off the beaten path.  Mayo Park is located just north of Le Sueur near the north highway 169 exit ramp.  There is a volleyball court and horseshoe pits and a playground.  Volleyball & horseshoes are available with the rental of Mayo Park.  Mayo Park has a shelter with restrooms and there is a gazebo along with a disc golf course.

 

Softball Park:

Softball Park is located on 6th street behind the hospital.  This park is great for those who like to play softball.  The park includes a regulation size softball field, a small shelter and a small playground.  The softball field can be rented, see Park Reservations.

 

River Park:

River Park is located on highway 93 just before entering into the City of Le Sueur.  River Park has a boat landing and restrooms.  Enjoy the natural beauty of the Minnesota River and hike through the wooded area next to the park.  No motorized vehicles allowed on the trails.

Overnight camping is allowed at River Park.  All campers must obtain a Camping Permit from the City of Le Sueur Police Department at 228 North Main Street.  There is no fee for overnight camping and visitors and campers must observe the following rules:

    • No ground fires.  Burning in stands ONLY.
    • All pets must be leashed at all times.
    • All garbage must be wrapped and placed in containers provided.
    • Upon leaving, please clean up around your campsite.
    • Must have Camping Permit displayed in windshield area
