Le Sueur Fire Department - Training Information

New recruits go through 1001 training which consists of 95 hours of training to become Firefighter One. The training is both hands-on and textbook and includes an initial house burn. Ongoing training includes in-house training twice per month along with the rest of the Fire Department. There is a requirement of eight hours per year minimum training. Once per year, all fire departments in the county (Region 12) get together for an eight-hour training class. All volunteers are trained on all aspects of the job. This ensures responders to a call have all the skills needed to handle the situation. There is no cost to the volunteers for training.
