Police
In partnership with our community, the Le Sueur Police Department provides impartial, ethical, and professional law enforcement service and protection of life and property. We strive to maintain the trust and confidence of our citizens while working to improve the quality of life.
First Responders
Police Officers are certified First Responders. When an emergency call comes to the Dispatch Center, Police Officers are usually first on the scene. If the situation involves personal life-threatening situation , officers are trained in, and carry equipment for, basic first aid measures. Their first response can frequently sustain life until the ambulance and staff can arrive.
Basic Services
- Traffic law enforcement
- Proactive police patrol
- City codes enforcement
- Criminal investigations
- Crime prevention programs for residents and businesses
- 911 Response
Be Alert
A safe community is one in which all citizens stay aware and alert to their surroundings. If you see something you think is unusual or out of the ordinary, do not hesitate to call the Police Department. We would rather check out something that turns out to be okay, than to miss something because a citizen feels it did not warrant a call to the Police.
Licenses/Permits
You can apply for a pet license (must be updated yearly) or UTV permit through our eLicense site.
Night to Unite
Each year, communities around the nation celebrate Night to Unite. This event is an evening for neighbors to gather and dedicate time for celebrating and strengthening our commitment to a safe community.
If you or someone in your neighborhood is planning a Night to Unite gathering, please contact the Le Sueur PD so that we can stop by for a visit (and share some prizes too). Night to Unite Registration Forms (PDF) are available for download or at the Police Department office.
